New PADI open water divers in the pool learning their skills before diving in the ocean.

This is where a lifetime of fun and adventure begins...

Congratulations!  You've taken your first step toward becoming a certified diver.  By taking our PADI Open Water Diver course you will obtain one of the most widely recognized and respected diving certifications in the world.

What will I need to start?

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. You must be older than the age of 15 to begin the PADI Open Water Diver program. For those of you who are not over the age of 15 and would like to participate in the PADI Open Water Diver Program, then the PADI Jr Open Water Diver program is available to you.

What Equipment will I need to buy?

In order to take the class, you will need to purchase a mask, snorkel, open heel fins, and wetsuit boots.  For the open water dives you will also need to have a hood, gloves and a flag and float per buddy team.  It's also a good idea to invest in your own equipment by the start of the class because:

You are more comfortable using equipment that is fitted to you.

You will dive more if you own your own equipment.

You can be more spontaneous not having to rent equipment all of the time.

For the price of about 10 rentals, you could have bought your own gear.

We will help you through the equipment selection process to ensure that your gear fits you properly, is comfortable, and is correct for the type of diving you will be doing.

What will I do?

Throughout the course you will learn the fundamentals of diving, all about the equipment, and techniques used to safely visit the underwater world.  You will do this through knowledge development sessions, SCUBA diving in a pool, and doing four dives in the ocean.

What is included with the course?

During the course you will have use of a regulator with a pressure gauge and computer, wetsuit, weights, tanks, and a BC vest.

How much does the SCUBA certification course cost?

$250.00 plus tax

You will also need to purchase the PADI Materials.
